Before launching, it is important for the pilot and passenger to have clear communication and a mutual understanding of what to expect so they can be more prepared and to help reduce their nervous energy. What I communicate to the passenger is when the wing is initially bought into the air before it is directly overhead they will feel a strong pull. I tell them to prepare for this by lowering their center of gravity and assuming a linebacker or wrestling stance. I ask them to visualize being an Ox pulling a cart. Leaning forward will keep them from being pull backward and help the pilot and passenger to run efficiently while leaving the mountain.
